Yet another outstanding Tree Farm Day is planned for you all at Rosedale Park. Rosedale Park (part of Mercer Meadows -- and within the Mercer County Park system) has lots of habitat types our resource specialists can provide great information about and to help you understand how everything is interconnected. We will be able to see management of riparian forest restoration, non-native plants, prescribed burn areas, management for game and non-game wildlife species, including some threatened and endangered species. We'll also have limited-capacity tours with plenty of choices amongst many topics of interest.
There will also be presentation of annual awards, a tree identification contest, a prize raffle, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction. So come share with us in celebrating the Tree Farm Program in New Jersey and congratulating your peers for their outstanding achievements in forest resource management. If you have an item to donate to our silent auction, please contact Dennis Galway and/or bring it with you. Plan to spend the entire day with your fellow tree farmers and forest conservationists having fun, learning new things about the forest and new ways to nurture it, and meet new friends or rekindle relationships!
Registration and breakfast is from from 8:30am-9:15am. Please try to be prompt!
Bring lawn chairs, camp chairs, or blankets for sitting. Tree farm signs with arrows directing you to the site will be placed on roads as you near the location.

The Division’s program committee did an excellent job to put together a compelling agenda full of engaging speakers on three of the most important topics facing foresters today. We have speakers from both the NJ Department of Agriculture and NJDEP Forest Service speaking on spotted lanternfly, emerald ash borer, and other pests, what they mean for urban and rural forests, and management approaches. Also, various speakers will be talking about Community Forestry Management Plans, and advances in planning for private forest lands.
January 30 is just around the corner. Register today! But, definitely register before January 27 to avoid the late fee.
